THE LEFT BANK JAZZ SOCIETY FLYERS 1973-1977

Description

A collection of the Left Bank Jazz Society flyers from 1966 to 1979. The collection includes five flyers featuring the following artists: Mynard Ferguson, Stan Kenton, Thad Jones, Pepper Adams, Monty Alexander, the Amad Jamal Trio, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messangers, Army Blues, Sun Ra, the Heath Brothers, the Joe Williams and Trio, the Clifford Jordon Quintet, the Commodores, the Rahsaan Roland Kirk Quintet, the Ahmad Jamal Jazz Ensemble, Don Patterson, Richie Cole, Vic Juris, Eddie Gladden, the Bobby Hutcherson Quartet, Carlos Garnett Cosmos Force, Art Farmer Quartet and the Ted Curson Quintet.
Light age toning and minor wear to corners of all flyers. Three items have center crease and one has a slight stain.
The Left Bank Jazz Society was a Baltimore based organization formed in 1964, hosting a series of concerts featuring nationally acclaimed performers such as John Coltrane and Duke Ellington.
Founded by Vernon L. Welsh (10 February 1919 – 8 August 2002) and Benny Kearse (16 March 1930 – 29 June 1999). Welsh recorded hundreds of jazz performances at the Famous Ballroom during the 1960s and 1970s.
